Just rough stuff. Since I approached the concept as a "better than the real thing" alternate history, I opted to get a little steam-punky. The ludicrous speeds these guys travel at require them to keep an eye on the road in front of them and the road way in front of them. The custom head gear that the racers wear is unique to each racer but most have the ability to see immediately in front of them, and a variety of distances, accurately gauge distances and even see to the side without turning.
