Cyber Monkey 1-1
Alright, well this isn't as cybernetic as it could be. It's supposed to be a cybernetic, humanoid monkey. The background and sketch a really sloppy. This was intended to be a color mockup of my pencil sketch, but I got carried away with adding in color overlays and lighting. I'm going to do some more studies and then try inking a cleaner version of this.

GitS - Major kusanagi Process
For the Ghost in the Shell theme, I've been working to redraw a panel from Shirow's original manga. I've been trying to redraw the Major and find a look that is more my own, while still keeping the feel of the original character. You can see from the reference image I have, that the fashion is very 80's (wide shoulders, high waste line, wrap around glasses, feathered hair... etc.) I tried to keep the bulky proportions but with a more modern slightly military feel.
So here are the sketches and studies I have so far. I still will take the drawing into Photoshop and mess around with proportions a bit more.
Ghost in the Shell - Theme
Hey everyone lets start drawing.
For the month of Febuary i'm proposing that our theme be based on Shirow Masamune's Ghost in the Shell. The artwork can be whatever you like, so long as it's based on the GitS universe. There is a lot of material out there that you can pull from (there is a Manga, 4 or 5 Films and two TV sessions.)
This theme should run for the entire month but that doesn't mean just post something at the end of the month. Feel free to post as much as you like, WIP art and concepts are more than welcome.
Digital Gun Sketch
I started on this a while ago but have a bad habit of not completing things. Last night I decided to finish it for better or worse. I'm not happy with the hand, but did not have any photographs around to reference it with.

Caught In m'drawers
Asher asked me to make a cowboy, and this is what i came up with. At first I had a moment of panic because I cant draw. I just make funny doodles. Well here is my funny doodle all dressed up. I'm a photographer and I don't have much patience, so I used collage for the majority of this. Why frustrate my self trying to draw a pair of cowboy boots that I know I'll never be able to do when I cant just paste a pair in. Still it took a long time do, and my file size by the end was pretty big.
Facial Expressions
Owen and I did some drawings this afternoon and I was able to draw these facial expression for my cowboy.
Cowboy
Here is my character. I drew him a couple times to get the proportions I was looking for. I'm hoping to eventually model this guy in MAYA, so I tried to keep him somewhat simple. Everything is pretty basic here. I didn't even ink this character. I'm a little more interested in creating more drawings and modeling this than creating a polished image. I'm hoping i can find some time to do a few more angles and expressions this afternoon.
Theme - Western
Hi, so the new theme is Westerns. Plain and simple.
For this theme I want us to focus on this being a slightly more long term and develop the theme into more than just stand alone sketchs. So in your designs start thinking about the characters background or what he or she is all about. Once we have some character designs, then we can flesh out details about the environment and maybe even think about doing some short storyboards.
Drake Colored
I've been sitting on this for a little while. The coloring is rather basic but it still took me a while to finalize the image.
